One of a pair of villages (with East Barnby) just off the main road to Whitby. Both are well placed overlooking the valleys that run down into Sandsend, and with views beyond that to the high moors.
Drive carefully around West Barnby. The road through the village twists between stone buildings, while the road east is narrow and twisting.
Just south of the A174, four miles west of Whitby.
It is not easy to park in West Barnby.
