Small village in the Esk Valley, with a station on the Esk Valley railway. Delightfully located, overlooked by crags to the south. The River Esk valley east of Carr End is steep and wooded. A dramatically located footpath heads up the ridge south of the village.
Less than half a mile east of Glaisedale.
