Description

A perfectly situated village right in the heart of the moors, Chop Gate (pronounced 'Chop Yat') runs along the B1257, at the junction of Bilsdale and Raisdale.

Large car park at the southern end of the village (with toilets)

Buck Inn - pub, restaurant and accommodation.

Local Features

Chop Gate's main feature is its location. Most of the moor's villages clutter around the edges, but Chop Gate is surrounded by the moors, with the highest point in the entire national park just a few miles to the north east.
