Situated between the scenic villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay, Port Mulgrave is an industrial village, formed to support the iron ore industry that had developed on the coast. The port closed sixty years ago, leaving nothing but a pier and harbour wall. The village itself is perched at the top of the cliffs, with a footpath down to the waterfront.
